About this role
*Overview* We are looking for a *full-time (30-40 hours/week) or part-time (10-25 hours/week) barista* that is available to work a mix of *weekdays and weekends throughout the summer AND school year (non-negotiable)*.
Coffee shop experience desirable but not required for this position. Super fun and fast paced environment with a friendly team. Staff are scheduled for shifts between 6:30am and 5:30pm, no late evenings required!
*Responsibilities*
* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to Bean Scene recipes and standards * Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling * Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any questions or concerns * Handle food preparation tasks such as serving food items, maintaining cleanliness of workstations, and adhering to food safety protocols * Manage cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including cleaning equipment and dishes regularly * Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation * Assist with serving food items when necessary and ensure timely delivery of orders to customers * Demonstrate effective time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods efficiently
*Requirements*
* Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates * Strong customer service skills with an approachable demeanor * Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately * Familiarity with POS systems * Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures * Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks during peak hours * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail * Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
Pay: $18.25-$26.95 per hour
