Basha Foods International is a vibrant grocery store and Calgary?s destination for global flavors?offering international groceries, fresh produce, Halal meats, and authentic baked goods. We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented *Baker* to join our busy team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare batters, fillings, and glazes according to established recipes and production schedules. * Operate commercial baking equipment safely (mixers, sheeters, proofers, deck ovens, and revolving ovens). * Monitor baking process, oven temperatures, and timings to ensure consistent product quality, taste, and presentation. * Package, price, and stock bakery shelves, keeping displays visually appealing and fully supplied for customers. * Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards throughout the bakery department. * Clean and sanitize prep stations, baking equipment, tools, and storage areas regularly. * Assist with inventory management, monitoring ingredient stock levels, and minimizing daily waste. * Provide friendly service and assist customers with inquiries or special orders when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
* 2+ years of commercial baking experience in a supermarket, retail bakery, or production kitchen setting. * Knowledge of standard baking techniques, dough handling, proofing, and baking machinery operation. * Strong physical stamina: able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (50 lbs) repeatedly. * Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by retail operations. * Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and food presentation. * Valid Food Safety certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
