As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics and machine learning initiatives. This role partners closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. What you'll be doing.Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines across multiple data sourcesEnsure data quality, integrity, and availability for analytics and business use casesCollaborate with data architects to develop and optimize data models and storage solutionsPartner with data scientists and analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutionsMonitor and optimize performance of data systems to support scalability and future growthProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineersEvaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data engineering capabilitiesDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data systems and processes What you'll need to be successful.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field5–7+ years of experience in data engineering or related rolesProficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or ScalaExperience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or HadoopStrong knowledge of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudFamiliarity with ETL tools, data warehousing, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization technologiesPreferred: Prior leadership or mentorship experience in data engineering projectsPreferred: Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications About the team.You will be part of the Data, AI and Analytics function within McCain's Digital Technology team, working in a highly collaborative environment alongside data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders. CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
