Job summary
Lea Vale Medical Group are looking for a Medical Receptionist with experience in customer service to join our Ampthill branch surgery. This is an exciting role as you'd be joining an established non-clinical team that serves over 45,000 patients and is rated outstanding by the CQC.
The role is part time Monday to Friday 8am-12pm

Main duties of the job
Our receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed. We are looking for someone who is confident and has an empathetic manner.

Job description Job responsibilities
Undertake reception duties, including front desk, patient navigation and call handling.Make appointments for patients to see GPs, nurses or others.Communicate with patients, visitors and Practice staff to ensure surgeries run smoothly and on time. Provide patients, visitors, etc. with basic information and act as a resource, where more help is required. Operate clinical computer system and maintain high quality data entry. Communicate with other agencies like transport, phlebotomy, hospital etc.

Qualifications Essential
Good level of education to GCSE standard or equivalent
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a customer services/other front line situation Computer literate with excellent keyboard skills Self-starter, able to work on own initiative, following set procedures and protocol

Use of clinical system software eg. SystmOne Previous NHS experience, ideally within a GP setting
Skills and Abilities Essential
Advanced working knowledge of Office 365 applications Can plan own work and multi-task
