This role will involve working with a specificgroup of patients with a lifelong conditionfrom birth through to adulthood. Thisis an opportunity to specialise in an exciting clinical area with scope forindependentandmultidisciplinaryworkingboth in the acute trust but also within the community.With advancements in CF management the candidate must have knowledge of health promotion and exercise prescription along with an ability to instruct and educatenavigatingpotential barriers.Therefore, it is essential that the candidate hasa high levelof experience working in Therapies or an exercise environment.
Main duties of the job
Strong communicationskills will be essential as the role will involve booking appointments, recording clinicaloutcomesand inputtingontonationalregistries, digitalliteracy skills, and highly developed verbal communication skillswill berequiredto liaisedirectlywith patientsand theirfamilies.
Due to the outreach nature of the post with home visits and working across multiple sitescandidatesmust be able to drivetosupport thelogistically running of the team to enablemanagement of both paediatric and adultpatientswithCF.The candidate must work well in a wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to a specialist cohort of patients. This innovative role allows the successful candidate to develop and grow alongside the changing need of this group of patients. Supported by thenationalnetwork of cysticfibrosis therapistsand a regional team, this post will be integrated within a team of senior and Advancedphysiotherapists.
Development opportunities will be supported for specific clinical knowledge. Supervision will be provided by the Band 7Therapists andcontinuous development is supported through appraisal, internaltrainingand external learning.
