About this role
Birthday Party Volunteers assist staff by enthusiastically welcoming party goers into the facility and provide general support to birthday children and parents.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with set up, take down, and cleaning of party rooms, including wiping surfaces, sweeping floors, and stacking chairs
• Welcome guests into the facility and guide them to designated areas
• Assist with individual parties as needed (escort guests, help decorate, play games with participants, etc.)
• Assist staff in setting up activities in the gym or other facility areas
• Assist with general maintenance of the facility and equipment
• Ensure the safety of facility patrons and party attendees, and know how to assist in emergency procedures
• Actively participate in program activities and interact positively with children
• Check messages and communicate regularly with supervisors
• Log hours on the appropriate time sheet
• Be reliable and punctual (arrive ready for shift in proper uniform)
Qualities
• Willing to learn new processes and follow procedures
• Enthusiastic, helpful, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with children and adults
WORK TERM:
• September – June.
• Saturdays and Sundays
• 1-2 shifts/week. Shifts are 3-5 hours long.
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Between 13 and 17 years of age.
• Completion of minimum of Emergency First Aid with CPR C or Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion.
• Completion of Volunteer Training – Provided by Westside.
