SUMMARY Serves banquet function guests' food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares function site assures meeting room is set according to specifications.
• Serves food and beverage items to guests based on established guidelines.
• Sets dining tables, buffets, and other service areas according to Banquet Event Order or as directed.
• Communicate guest requests and concerns to the department manager.
• Helps to maintain a clean banquet or catering kitchen, coolers, and equipment.
• Assists in monitoring waste in the banquet or catering area.
• Ensures the guests are provided with excellent customer service by anticipating their needs before they arise.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Prior banquet, catering, or restaurant experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and carry trays, move banquet furniture, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• OLCC and Food Handler's certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Able to pass a drug test and pre-employment criminal background check.
• Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved uniform at all times.
• Must be able to deliver plated food, clear tables and assist in banquet set up, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to effectively card all guests who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases and under the age of 25 for tobacco purchases.
• Must be over 18 years of age
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must maintain current Food Handler Card and OLCC Service Permit.
