About this role
I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Dusts and polishes all furniture in living and work areas.
• High and low dusting of walls and baseboards using appropriated brush with long handle.
• Dust all doors and door jams, clean exit, exit glass door panels in and outside.
• Vacuum clean/carpet, sweeps all rug areas: sweeps, dry mops, damp mops floors and spray buff floors.
• Cleans window sills, fixtures, mirrors and pictures in assigned room using appropriate cloths and solution.
• Cleans utility rooms.
• Hangs clean shower and tub curtains.
• Empties, cleans and relines waste baskets. Collects trash and delivers to proper location. (Dumpster)
• Spot clean walls and doors.
• Cleans Nurses Station and Bathroom/Infirmary Bedrooms and Bath.
• On the discharge of a resident, the room and furnishings are completely washed and disinfected, all bed linens are washed and the room is made ready before it can be occupied by a new resident.
• Reports all needed repairs to Maintenance and/or Director of Childcare.
• Responsible to wash bedspreads and curtains in the apartments, Infirmary and Mini-Conference Room.
• Refills paper towel and soap dispenser and toilet tissue.
• Cleans and waxes floors in residents rooms twice a year or in an emergency.
• Cleans refrigerators.
• Cleans oven and top burners.
• Checks kitchenette shelves weekly.
• Sweeps and mops stairs and clean handrails.
• Cleans equipment after use.
• May be assigned to assist in any emergency area in the facility in case of fire, flood, etc., may shampoo rugs and chairs.
• Cleans dining room tables and chairs.
• Performs a variety related duties as requested by Supervisor.
II. QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma and/or Housekeeping experience.

• Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change; forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families.
