About this role
Objectives:
• Train contractors on proper installation methodologies;
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to third-party installation contractors;
• Guide installation contractors in the proper interpretation of system documentation;
• Drive execution of the installation QA/QC plan;
• Participate in building components & subassemblies;
• Participate in new product/component constructability design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting procedural and design changes;
• Identify needs for installation of new equipment to improve efficiency and profitability of yards;
• Travel throughout North America to support site installations and upgrades (40-60%).
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Experience in the scrap industry is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and work instructions;
• Extensive Knowledge of CAD software (Autocad, Inventor, Solidworks, etc.)
• Fluid in Microsoft excel;
• Ability to solve technical problems in a timely manner with minimal support.
• Ability to react to changing conditions & work to aggressive deadlines.
• Ability to maintain focus on project goals in the face of schedule pressure and challenging conditions;
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve project goals;
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time;
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Design, or Industrial Engineering.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
Our final candidate will be required to successfully pass a thorough background check, which includes a criminal history check and previous employment check, if an external candidate. A post-off physical and drug test will be required of external applicants.
