DFW Steel is seeking a experienced Material Handler with leadership capabilities to assist with our daily operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, and/or trucks, tractors, Overhead Cranes and other equipment.
• Contribute to orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
• Picks, verifies, packages, and loads orders for shipment using provided documents and/or work orders.
• Picks material needed for work orders in various Departments and delivers to the accurate locations.
• Locate materials and supplies by correctly pulling and verifying items listed on production orders.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Inventory control, and accurately fulfill pick orders as required.
• May assemble product containers or crates.
• Manually lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Cross-trains in other departments as needed for the business.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections as required.
• Compliance with departmental SOP's and ISO procedures.
• Adherence to Safety Standards and policies.

• Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
• The ability to see details at close range and at a distance.
• The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
• Ability to follow instructions.
