Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments? Moody Bible Institute is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Custodian to join our Facilities team. In this role, you will help maintain our campus facilities by ensuring classrooms, offices, common areas, and restrooms are clean, organized, and ready to support students, employees, and guests.

The Opportunity

As a member of our Facilities team, you will play an important role in supporting Moody's mission by providing exceptional custodial services across campus while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.

What You'll Do

Clean and maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and common areas.

• Clean carpets, floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces using established procedures.

• Collect and properly dispose of trash and recycling materials.

• Monitor, replenish, and organize supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and public spaces.

• Maintain custodial storage areas in a clean, organized, and well-stocked condition.

• Operate custodial equipment, including carpet extractors, floor scrubbers, wet vacuums, and other specialized cleaning tools.

• Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Assist with campus events, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience.

• Familiarity with custodial equipment, cleaning products, and workplace safety procedures.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Full-time position.

• Typical schedules:

• Second Shift: Monday-Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

• Schedules may vary during academic breaks and campus events.

• Occasional overtime may be required to support institutional events and operational needs.

This role works throughout Moody's campus in offices, classrooms, restrooms, residence halls, hallways, and other facilities. Team members regularly use standard custodial tools and cleaning equipment to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

The position requires frequent walking, standing, stair climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move custodial carts, equipment, and supplies as needed.
