What you'll do

Lead and coordinate daily production activities, clearly communicating expectations and resolving operational issues.

Promote a culture of employee safety, food safety, product quality, accountability, and teamwork.

Train, coach, evaluate, and support employees in line with company policies and procedures.

Prepare production areas by confirming equipment readiness, operating parameters, staffing, and workflow.

Monitor quality, specifications, line speeds, staffing levels, and employee placement; take prompt corrective action when needed.

Partner with USDA and Quality Assurance to resolve regulatory, product quality, and food safety concerns, including pre-operational inspections.

Maintain compliance with HACCP programs, SSOPs, OSHA standards, and other company and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate employee training and certifications for production processes, food safety, safety standards, and company procedures.

Work with Human Resources on hiring, attendance, performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary matters.

Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues, escalate concerns appropriately, and support Lean/CPI continuous improvement efforts.

What you bring

1–3 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or food processing.

Working knowledge of protein or food manufacturing processes; poultry industry experience is a plus.

A practical understanding of standard operating procedures, USDA regulations, HACCP, SSOPs, and workplace safety expectations.

The ability to lead large teams, manage competing priorities, and respond calmly and effectively to production or employee concerns.

Strong communication, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

The ability to collect, analyze, and interpret production data and reports.

Preferred qualifications

Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Candidates with strong leadership potential and relevant operational experience may also be considered.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and CAT2 or a similar production management system.

Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability.

Work environment & physical requirements

This role is primarily performed in a production environment and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods. It may involve lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds and requires strong hand-eye coordination. The environment may be cold, wet, or humid. All safety and biosecurity practices must be followed. Candidates must be able to read and write in English.
