Role Overview
The Assistant Project Manager III (APM III) is a senior-level support role that plays a pivotal part in managing complex construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. With a solid foundation in project management, the APM III takes on advanced responsibilities in scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and quality control. This role works closely with project managers and superintendents to lead day-to-day operations, resolve issues proactively, and drive project success. The APM III is expected to make independent decisions, mentor junior staff, and contribute to strategic planning and execution.
Primary Responsibilities
• Supports the coordination of planning and implementation of concrete frame and formwork projects.
• Performs jobsite inspections/audits of shoring, rebar/pt installation, safety, and quality.
• Collaborates with Project Manager on management of project productivity, costs, quality and safety consistent with company policies and practices.
• Assists in managing assigned projects including working with local team to develop processes for delivering total concrete solutions.
• Develops and maintains customer relationships to enhance company's ability to procure projects, reduce risk, and ensure operational efficiency.
• Monitors the overall safety and quality issues on the project.
• Lead and manage the development and coordination of material and equipment schedules and promotes their efficient use.
• Supports the coordination of all subcontractor and vendor contracts and associated processes and procedures.
• May assume the role of Project Manager for smaller projects as needed.
• Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related degree, or its equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of work experience successfully supporting similar primary responsibilities meeting and exceeding performance expectations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
• Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding plan layouts, material deliveries and jobsite productivities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Advanced knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
• Ability to travel and work for extended period of time on projects outside of office area.
