Sun Valley Resort is seeking polished, hospitality-driven bartenders to join our team at The Ram. In this role, you'll create exceptional guest experiences through expert cocktail craftsmanship, premium beverage service, and seamless bar operations in one of the resort's signature dining destinations. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about elevated service, attention to detail, and creating memorable moments in a sophisticated resort setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Open and close the bar according to established procedures, including preparing the bar for service, balancing the assigned bank, and ensuring all spirits, wines, beers, mixers, garnishes, and supplies are fully stocked and presentation-ready.
• Maintain a polished, organized, and impeccably clean bar, lounge, and service areas that reflect the standards of an upscale hospitality environment.
• Prepare and serve premium cocktails, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages with precision, consistency, and adherence to established recipes and quality standards.
• Execute the resort's signature cocktail program while demonstrating knowledge of premium spirits, seasonal ingredients, and modern mixology techniques.
• Confidently guide guests through the menu, offering knowledgeable recommendations on food, wine, cocktails, and other beverages to enhance the dining experience.
• Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests accurately with the culinary team to ensure exceptional guest care.
• Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system, process payments, and maintain proper cash-handling procedures.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and responsibly refuse or discontinue service in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
• Maintain current knowledge of responsible alcohol service, beverage trends, products, and liquor regulations through required training.
• Accurately report and account for gratuities in accordance with company policy.
• Keep glassware, bar tools, and equipment clean, polished, sanitized, and service-ready throughout each shift.
• Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, replenishment, and bar presentation to support operational excellence.
• Collaborate with servers, barbacks, culinary teams, and leadership to deliver seamless, elevated guest experiences.
• Uphold all health, safety, sanitation, and food safety standards while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications
• Minimum of two years of experience in upscale food and beverage, fine dining, luxury hospitality, or a high-volume bar environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest service with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of premium cocktails, wine, spirits, and responsible alcohol service preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs and create memorable experiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Dependable, proactive, and committed to the highest standards of hospitality and service excellence.
• Ability to follow established service standards, operating procedures, and leadership direction.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks, including walking, reaching, grasping, and handling bar equipment and supplies.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds.
