About this role
The Director of Finance is a senior leader responsible for strengthening and evolving the finance function into a strategic, scalable partner to the business. This role focuses on delivering clear financial insights, enabling sound decision‑making, and improving operational efficiency—ensuring leaders across the organization can understand financial performance and act with confidence.
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance plays a key role in modernizing financial processes, developing talent, leveraging technology, and building a finance organization that supports growth with discipline, clarity, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
• Serve as a trusted business partner to the CFO and senior leaders.
• Translate business strategies into actionable financial insights, implications, and trade‑offs.
• Support the shift of Finance from a primarily reporting function to a proactive, decision‑support partner.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Lead timely and accurate monthly close, financial reporting, and performance analysis.
• Improve reporting clarity by emphasizing key drivers, trends, and forward‑looking insights.
• Ensure financial information is practical, understandable, and relevant for non‑finance leaders.
Process, Systems & Transformation
• Drive improvements to finance processes and workflows to increase efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Partner with IT, Analytics, and Operations to enhance financial systems, automation, and reporting tools.
• Support system integrations and process alignment related to growth initiatives and acquisitions.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Establish clear roles, expectations, and development plans aligned with business needs.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Governance, Controls & Risk
• Maintain effective financial controls while minimizing unnecessary complexity.
• Collaborate with Audit, Risk, and Compliance partners to support sound risk management practices.
• Assist with audit activities and help ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including people leadership responsibilities.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into insights.
• Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing decisions.
Preferred
• CPA, CMA, and/or MBA.
• Experience supporting multi‑entity organizations or businesses undergoing growth or transformation.
