Position Details
• Pay Type: Hourly
• Hiring Range: $22.72/hour
• Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
• Hours: 8a – 8p
At Sage Ridge, our residential and detox programs rely on consistent structure, safety, and compassionate support. As a Counseling Technician, you will provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to clients, reinforce program expectations, support clinical staff, and help ensure a safe, stable, recovery-focused environment.
What You'll Do
• Supervise clients during assigned shift and provide resources as appropriate.
• Document significant interactions/events, including clinical shift and general notes in electronic medical record.
• Deliver new clients a comprehensive orientation to residential programming. Ensure that clients understand rules, campus layout, and guidelines for conduct.
• Continually provide education and support to clients regarding program expectations, assignments, and schedules.
• Participate in and promote a positive, supportive, and cooperative team environment.
• Accurately provide clients with appointment times, messages, and assignment support as needed.
• Using Harmony protocol, assist in emergencies, including procedures and drills.
• Aid in client property, campus, and drug dog searches as needed.
• Support clinical staff and other departments in providing excellent client care.
• Facilitate educational groups as needed.
• Conduct client commencement ceremony on Saturday night as scheduled.
• As appropriate, encourage client participation in outings and wellness related activities.
• Safely transport clients to off-campus events, meetings, and appointments as required.
• Attend and actively participate in meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.
• Demonstrate knowledge and competency in ethical standards of the counseling profession.
• Adhere to confidentiality laws including 42CFR Part 2, HIPAA and HITECH as well as Harmony policies and procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to set and hold boundaries appropriately.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
• Skilled in exercising sensitivity to the diverse cultural and situational needs of clients.
• Ability to speak in an effective and professional manner in large and small group settings.
• CPR/First Aid certified.
• Dedication to continued professional development.
• Ability to operationalize organizational values when solving problems and making decisions.
• Ability to make decisions in crisis situations through a trauma informed perspective.

What You Bring
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of prior work experience in behavioral health is preferred.
• Certified Addiction Technician designation is preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to remain alert and active throughout assigned shifts in a residential setting.
• Physical ability to access all areas of the facility, including stairs.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and participate in drills, including providing CPR/First Aid when needed.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
