POSITION TITLE: Journeyman Electrician, Wireless

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is a Nationwide full turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including Wireline, Wireless, Technology, and Engineering. Our customer-centric approach has ensured long-term relationships with commercial clients, service providers, local, state, and federal government organizations. Our ALL IN culture includes a focus on Safety, Wellness, Learning, Diversity and Inclusion, and giving back to our Communities.

ADB is seeking a journeyman electrician to oversee wire system installations and design the routing of circuits for various wireless telecommunications construction sites. This position will act as the foreman on the project site, leading entry-level electricians' tasks daily. This role involves conducting thorough testing of electrical systems using specialized tools to identify issues, assess safety, and ensure compatibility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrician experience in the wireless industry — including DC power systems, backup battery plants, standby and temporary generator installation, Cam-Lok emergency power connections, step-up and step-down transformers, AC voltages up to 480VAC, and customer/landlord-owned sub-meter (E-Mon D-Mon) installation — along with leadership skills and an ALL IN attitude to achieve results.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and supervise on-site team members, providing coaching, training, and evaluations to ensure optimal performance, productivity, and professional growth.

• Participate in the construction, installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, facilities, and associated electronic controls and devices, utilizing blueprints, manufacturers' specifications, and verbal instructions.

• Install, terminate, and land -48VDC power systems at cell sites, including rectifiers, DC power plants, distribution panels, and battery backup strings (VRLA and lithium), per manufacturer specs and site engineering drawings.

• Perform Cam-Lok (camlock) connections for temporary and emergency generator hookups, supporting rapid power restoration and emergency response events at cell tower, small cell, and DAS sites.

• Install and connect permanent standby and temporary/portable generators on cell sites, including fuel and load calculations, Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) tie-ins, and generator interconnect wiring for both AC and DC loads.

• Run, bend, and terminate conduit (EMT, rigid, and PVC) for power and signal circuit routing, ensuring proper grounding, bonding, and code-compliant installation.

• Install and connect step-up and step-down transformers, safely working with AC voltages up to 480VAC across site power distribution equipment.

• Install and wire customer/landlord-owned sub-meters (E-Mon D-Mon) for utility billing and power usage tracking at cell sites.

• Conduct testing of electrical systems using precision tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and clamp meters to identify issues, assess safety, and ensure compatibility across AC and DC circuits.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot AC/DC power distribution issues including rectifier faults, breaker and fusing problems, battery string failures, and grounding/bonding deficiencies, implementing corrective measures to maintain operational efficiency.

• Utilize various equipment including ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and lifts for outdoor work on wireless tower sites, small cell sites, DAS installation sites, and other wireless construction projects.

• Demonstrate proficiency in reading blueprints, one-line power diagrams, and construction drawings to execute tasks accurately.

• Ensure a safe work environment by strictly adhering to company guidelines, OSHA safety regulations, and promptly reporting policy violations to supervisors.

• Support emergency response power restoration efforts, including staging temporary generators, making Cam-Lok tie-ins, and coordinating with utility and fuel vendors during outage events.

• Collaborate with vendors and contractors across project sites to facilitate seamless project execution.

• Stay informed about updates to the National Electric Code (NEC) and integrate changes into work processes as necessary.

• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing work progress, test results, and project schedules to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

• A strong belief in ZERO — Being Safe 100% of the time is the expectation.

• Alignment with company mission, vision, and values.

• A high level of customer centricity.

• Strong work ethic with an ALL-IN attitude.

• Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members.

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced/high-volume environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills.

• Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution-oriented.

• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals.

• Strong leadership skills: can inspire and lead a team to reach common goals.

• Strong working knowledge of low-voltage DC electrical systems, including -48VDC power plants, rectifiers, and battery backup equipment.

• Familiarity with Cam-Lok connections and temporary/emergency generator hookup procedures.

• Working knowledge of permanent and portable generator installation, ATS operation, and fuel systems on wireless/cell sites.

• Comfort running and terminating conduit for power and signal routing in outdoor and tower-based environments.

• Working knowledge of step-up and step-down transformers and comfort working with AC voltages up to 480VAC.

• Familiarity with installing customer/landlord-owned sub-meters (E-Mon D-Mon).

• High-level knowledge of construction drawings, one-line power diagrams, and documents.

• Ability to successfully lead a project site and task-manage entry-level electricians.

• Entry-level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving.

• Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid, and/or rainy spring, summer, and fall weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

• May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels — including generator and rectifier equipment noise — on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.

• Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and high-visibility vests when working on-site.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
