Job Purpose

Timoney is seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to lead the company’s purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, spares and MRO procurement activities.

The role will be responsible for developing a resilient, cost-effective and quality-focused supply chain to support Timoney’s engineering, production, aftermarket, operational and maintenance requirements. This includes the procurement of engineered components, fabricated and machined parts, bought-out OEM items, critical spare parts, MRO supplies, tooling, consumables, services and long-lead production materials.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving supplier performance, reducing supply-chain risk, optimising working capital, strengthening stock control and ensuring the availability of both production materials and critical spares required to support Timoney’s operations and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing and procurement of production components, engineered parts, fabricated and machined items, bought-out OEM components, critical spares, MRO supplies, tooling, consumables and services.

• Establish a structured procurement approach for spares and MRO, ensuring critical items are identified, stocked appropriately and available when required.

• Develop and manage stocking policies for spare parts, MRO items and production materials, including minimum/maximum stock levels, safety stock, reorder points and long-lead item planning.

• Develop and implement a company-wide procurement and supply-chain strategy aligned with Timoney’s operational, engineering, financial, production and aftermarket requirements.

• Optimise working capital tied up in inventory while protecting the business from stockouts, production delays etc.

• Develop and manage a resilient supplier base capable of supporting low-volume, high-value engineering, manufacturing, spares and MRO requirements.

• Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, service levels, lead-time commitments, warranty terms and delivery performance expectations.

• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Production to ensure suppliers can meet technical specifications, drawings, traceability requirements, quality standards and customer flow-down requirements.

• Implement and improve ERP/MRP processes to provide accurate purchasing data, inventory visibility, stock control and procurement reporting.

• Monitor supplier performance and lead corrective actions relating to delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness and commercial risk.

• Manage procurement and supply-chain risk, including single-source suppliers, long-lead components, obsolete spares, inflation exposure, logistics disruption and supplier capacity constraints.

• Lead, mentor and develop the purchasing, supply-chain, stores and inventory control team.

• Define and report procurement, inventory and supplier KPIs, including supplier OTIF, inventory turns, stock accuracy, purchase price variance, cost savings, spares availability, MRO stockouts, obsolescence and supplier non-conformance.

• Ensure procurement processes are controlled, auditable and aligned with Timoney’s finance, quality, operational and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline.

• Professional procurement or supply-chain qualification such as MCIPS, ASCM/APICS or equivalent is desirable.

• Proven experience managing procurement for engineered components, production materials, spare parts, MRO items, tooling, consumables or technical services is desirable.

• Strong experience negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts and improving supplier performance.

• Demonstrable understanding of ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, purchasing controls and data-driven procurement planning.
