About this role
This is a full-time sales and booking position for which the Agent is responsible for delivering consistent results for a distinguished roster of touring attractions, dance companies, choral ensembles, touring orchestras, and special projects. The position is high volume requiring a highly organized, self-motivated, and confident individual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Negotiate all aspects of a potential booking with presenter partners to create mutually successful engagements
· Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the diverse roster of artists, repertoire, and programs
· Generate new business and possess the ability to convert leads into confirmed dates
· Understand offer terms, presenter budgets, ticket scaling, technical riders, and artist needs
· Develop and maintain professional relationships with presenting institutions in a large territory within North America
· Problem solve and research new performance opportunities
· Collaborate with a team to meet goals
· Participate in booking conferences throughout North America (limited travel)
· Attend evening and weekend performances as needed
Qualification/Requirements:
· 5+ years’ experience working at a management agency, presenting organization, or other relevant industry experience (candidates with sales, development, or account management experience preferred)
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain long-term professional relationships
· Demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, listening skills, and persuasiveness
· Goal-oriented, self-directed and motivated
· Demonstrated history of negotiating financial terms or equivalent experience
· Extremely organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
· Thorough understanding of the performing arts and music industry
· Strong ability to confidently and professionally interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
· Close proximity to NYC to be in the office 1-2 days a week, potentially more during key moments
· Must be able to work in a virtual office environment as necessary
Education/Training/Experience
· BA Degree or equivalent experience
· Additional languages are useful but not required
Compensation & Benefits:
· Salary: $75,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience, with higher compensation considered for experienced agents/industry professionals – payable bi-weekly
· Status: Exempt
