Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will be a member of Mosai’s Accounting and Finance team. This role will be responsible for assisting with month-end close, preparing journal entries and analysis of monthly financial statements, processing accounts payable, and ensuring the Company’s books and records are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”). The ideal candidate will: be a team player, have a knowledge of GAAP (particularly in relation to SaaS companies), have experience in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building and improving accounting processes, and be passionate about our business and our clients.
Job Duties
· Assists with the completion of accurate and timely monthly financial statement close, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis over prior periods.
· Assists with the preparation and recording of asset, liability, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
· Assists with the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
· Assists with completing Mosai’s external audit and tax reporting by pulling data and collaborating with internal and external partners.
· Assists with the design, implementation, and management of a scalable system of internal controls.
· Assists with bank reconciliations, bank deposits, sales tax calculation/payment and accounts payable.
· Assists with business registration (including taxes) and tax compliance.
· Cultivates a culture of professionalism, collaboration, commitment to exceptional customer service, and rapid response to critical business needs.
· Completes other accounting projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
· 3+ years of accounting experience in a high-growth business.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA license preferred.
· Strong working knowledge of GAAP concepts, financial reporting, full-cycle accounting & month-end close processes.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced-level facility in Excel.
· Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently, “roll up your sleeves” to execute deliverables, prioritize multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Working knowledge of accounting software platforms.
· SaaS expertise preferred
