Position Summary

The Onsite Project Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards. This role serves as the primary field liaison between project management, field personnel, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients. The Onsite Project Superintendent is responsible for developing cohesive field teams, driving accountability, proactively identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring successful execution of all project scopes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Coordination

• Manage and develop a cohesive field team that works effectively across all trades.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all company-related field operations.

• Support plumbing, piping, sheet metal, startup, safety, and subcontracted scopes of work.

• Coordinate field activities with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and trade partners.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and excellence.

• Participate in project pre-planning efforts prior to job start, coordinating with project management, logistics, and field personnel.

• Review project schedules and proactively manage field activities to ensure milestones are achieved.

• Monitor short-term and long-term project goals and implement recovery plans when objectives are at risk.

• Coordinate with all construction trades to stay ahead of project requirements and avoid delays.

• Monitor job progress to ensure production goals are met.

• Review and track general contractor schedules to maintain alignment.

• Establish, monitor, and complete project milestones throughout the construction lifecycle.

• Ensure adequate manpower is available and coordinate staffing resources as needed

• Conduct regular jobsite visits and meetings, documenting findings in accordance with company standards.

• Perform quality inspections and identify punch list items that do not meet company standards.

• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, company procedures, and project specifications.

• Support permitting and shutdown coordination for renovation and occupied-facility projects.

• Maintain regular communication with project managers, foremen, superintendents, and field personnel.

• Ensure daily reports are submitted accurately and on time.

• Identify and communicate potential delays, obstacles, risks, and change order opportunities.

• Keep project teams informed of upcoming challenges and provide solutions to maintain project success.

• Track and communicate potential change order items with project management.

• Ensure material procurement aligns with project schedules.

• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor need to support project success.

• Assist in developing and maintaining high-performing installation teams across all company scopes of work.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, scheduling, safety, and quality control.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency with construction documentation, reporting, and project coordination.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the Southeast region as project needs require

Preferred

• Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors.

• OSHA 30 Certification.

• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.

• Project Management education or certifications (CAPM or PMP preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments.

• Ability to walk active jobsites, climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and inspect work areas.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work in varying weather and site conditions.
