About this role

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Trimmer & Escape Slide Specialist to form part of our Workshop.

In this position you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of aircraft interior components, including seats, carpets, side panels, headliners, insulation, escape slides, and upholstery. The role requires precision craftsmanship, adherence to aviation regulations, and the ability to work with specialized materials and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace aircraft upholstery, carpets, curtains, and interior trim.

• Fabricate and fit leather, fabric, and vinyl coverings for aircraft seats and panels.

• Repair or refurbish aircraft interiors according to manufacturer specifications.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals, and work instructions.

• Use sewing machines, cutting tools, adhesives, and other specialized equipment.

• Ensure all work complies with aviation safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Inspect completed work for quality, fit, and finish.

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

• Keep the work area clean and follow workplace health and safety procedures.

• Work collaboratively with aircraft maintenance engineers and other technicians.

• Aircraft escape slide repair and re-certification.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in upholstery, trimming, or aircraft interior refurbishment.

• Knowledge of aviation materials and interior finishing techniques.

• Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand skills.

• Good problem-solving and time management abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Understanding of aviation safety regulations is an advantage.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Vocational training or certification in upholstery, trimming, or aircraft maintenance is preferred.

• Previous experience in aircraft interiors.
