About this role
OVERVIEW. The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager within the Roofing Department. In this role, the APM helps ensure commercial roofing projects are executed successfully, on time, and within budget. The APM is responsible for coordinating project activities, maintaining quality standards, and supporting all aspects of project delivery to ensure high-quality workmanship and client satisfaction.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a construction related field, or business management
• Experience in the commercial construction industry a plus
• Candidate must be willing to participate in field training with crew members to develop a strong understanding of company operations, workflows, and project scopes
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, problem solving skills
• Able to work independently, while also working in a strong team environment
• Ability to travel overnight by up to 25% of work week, if applicable
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FIELD OPERATIONS
• Quality control inspections on all job sites regular basis
• Assist with job site safety inspections
• Conduct inspections with manufacturers
• Daily communication with field employees & subcontractors
• Monitor and report field progress of employees & subcontractors
• Order materials & schedule deliveries
• Coordination of proper PPE with employees
• Coordinate equipment deliveries
• Track & coordinate all field equipment (tools, scaffolds, etc.)
• Attend weekly progress meetings and provide updates on project status
• Conduct hand-off meetings with Foremen & subcontractors
OFFICE OPERATIONS
• Professional communication via telephone and/or email correspondence, both intra-office and with external customers
• Assist with the submittal process
• Participate in set-up & hand-off meetings
• Review estimates & plans with appropriate stakeholders
• Review production drawings
• Assist with pricing RFIs and CO requests
• Assemble & monitor the budget for labor
• Assist in creating weekly schedules and participate in weekly production meetings
• Coordinate layout of materials while adhering to budget
• Assist with materials ordering and inventory
COMPENSATION
• Total annual compensation (base salary + performance-based bonus) commensurate with experience: $60,000 - $75,000
• Cell phone or $45 per month towards the cost of your personal cell phone
