Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Tasks: Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Hairstylist Trade Certification. Hairstylist Licence. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Hair braiding. Iron waving/curling. Permanents. Roller setting. Hair colouring techniques: Bleach. Dyes/tints. Streaking/highlights. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Do you have experience working in this field?.
