Job Title: Weld SpecialistJob DescriptionA Welding Specialist performs welding operations in a fast-paced environment at workstations with required cycle times. Team members work within a culture that thrives on lean manufacturing principles both on and off the production line. Responsibilities • Perform welding operations: load and unload parts and weldments into various welding fixtures depending on production team needs. • Review blueprints and other schematic drawings to ensure proper weld sizes and lengths are used on weldments. • Arrange parts and structures of common weldments, usually guided by patterns or fixtures, and verify that layouts comply with drawings and symbols. • Verify the accuracy of weldments by comparing them to measurement specifications. • Prepare welding equipment for proper usage and verify the proper energy source and supplies. • Prepare the layout of equipment to perform as needed and move equipment to the proper location to maximize safety, function, and quality. • Ensure welds conform to quality standards and product specifications. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the position. Essential Skills • Experience in welding, specifically MIG welding and steel welding. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Basic technical knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) techniques, setup, verification, and operation of welding equipment. • Sufficient welding skill to comply with quality standards and product specifications. • Mechanical aptitude and ability to lift 40 lbs. • Basic knowledge of blueprint layouts and symbols. • Working knowledge of quality principles, safe work habits, and continuous improvement methods. • Skill in resolving workstation-related problems affecting equipment, production, or quality. • Ability to perform standardized layouts of parts prior to welding and accurately identify weld locations. • Ability to pass the Welding Exam and Skills Test. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Sufficient human relations skill to convey information and maintain good working relations with team members. • Working knowledge of production processes and equipment. Welders work in designated weld cells for health and safety reasons. Expect to walk, stand, kneel, and lift 40 lbs consistently for 10 hours a day. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.49 - $27.49/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
