Job Title: Traveling FabricatorJob DescriptionThis role involves operating a wide range of metal fabrication equipment to produce high- and low-volume parts according to blueprints and work instructions. You will set up and run various machines, perform precise measurements, and contribute to production in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment while traveling as needed to support fabrication operations.Responsibilities
• Set up and operate a variety of fabrication equipment, sheet or tube laser, and tube bender machines • Perform fabrication tasks on both high-volume and low-volume projects in accordance with production requirements. • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions to produce accurate parts and assemblies. • Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, angle gauges, and radius gauges to verify dimensions and ensure products meet specifications. • Perform fixture welding and sheet metal fabrication work as required by each project. • Operate tube benders and press brakes to form and shape metal components to the required tolerances. • Utilize MIG welding techniques to assemble and fabricate metal parts when needed. • Follow established production processes and quality standards to maintain consistency and accuracy in all fabricated components. • Inspect finished parts for quality, making adjustments or corrections as necessary to meet blueprint and specification requirements. • Handle and move materials and parts safely, including lifting items up to 50 pounds without restrictions. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including welding booths and fabrication stations. • Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines while operating fabrication equipment and tools. Essential Skills
• High school diploma or GED. • At least 1 year of Rondo tube bender experience. • At least 1 year of sheet laser experience. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings. • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/32 of an inch. • Experience with tube benders and press brakes in a fabrication environment. • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, angle gauges, and radius gauges. • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds with no restrictions. • Experience working with sheet metal in a production setting. • Blueprint reading skills for production and fabrication work. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience operating Manual H-Press, Manual Drill Press, metal saws, Eagle Swager, and tube benders. • Experience in both high-volume and low-volume metal fabrication projects. • Familiarity with production environments that utilize fixtures and jigs for welding and fabrication. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality fabricated components. • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures. • Comfort working in designated welding booths and around various fabrication equipment. Fabricators and welders work in well-organized areas, including individual welding booths for welding operations. You will work around a variety of fabrication equipment such as presses, drill presses, metal saws, swagers, tube benders, and laser systems. The facility provides access to an onsite nurse for internal and contract employees, reinforcing a strong focus on health and safety. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures while supporting efficient production work. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
