About this role

Job Title: Quality InspectorJob DescriptionThe Quality Inspector performs in-process and final inspections on precision machined parts in a manufacturing and machine shop environment. This role uses a variety of inspection tools and techniques, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators, and GD&T, to ensure parts meet specifications. The position also involves writing first article inspections and training to operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to support high-quality production.Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections on machined parts to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications. • Conduct final inspections on completed parts to ensure they meet customer and internal quality requirements. • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, various gauges, and optical comparators with a high level of precision. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand part specifications and tolerances. • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles on a daily basis during inspection activities. • Prepare and write first article inspection reports to validate initial production runs. • Train and develop proficiency in operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for inspection purposes. • Support inspection of parts produced on CNC equipment to confirm conformance to standards. • Document inspection results accurately and communicate findings to appropriate team members. • Collaborate with machining and production personnel to address nonconformances and support continuous improvement. • Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working condition and follow established quality procedures. • Work consistently on 2nd shift once training is complete, maintaining reliability and attention to detail. Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of recent experience working as an inspector in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. • At least 2 years of recent experience inspecting parts using micrometers and calipers. • Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and various gauges for dimensional inspection. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Hands-on experience performing quality checks and quality inspections on machined parts. • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its daily application. • Experience with inspection of CNC machined parts or working closely with CNC processes. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation. • Willingness and desire to work 2nd shift on a long-term basis. • Ability to learn and be trained in CMM inspection and operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using an optical comparator for dimensional inspection. • Experience in CNC machining with an interest in transitioning into inspection. • Familiarity with first article inspection processes and documentation. • Comfort working in a job shop environment with a variety of industrial parts. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with machinists and production staff. • Motivation to grow technical skills and advance within a precision manufacturing setting. You will work with precision machining and inspection technologies, including CNC equipment, micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators, and CMM systems.The setting is a typical machine shop environment where attention to safety, proper use of tools, and adherence to standard work practices are essential. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maple Grove, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
