Job Title: Forklift Operator on all shifts!Job DescriptionThis role ensures that manufacturing departments always have the correct materials on hand by accurately moving, staging, and recording inventory using scanning equipment and forklifts. The Stock Keeper maintains precise inventory transactions, supports material flow between key areas of the facility, and upholds safety and quality standards throughout all material handling activities.Responsibilities
• Move materials and supplies between receiving, manufacturing, shipping, and storage areas using a sit-down electric forklift and other material handling equipment. • Control the issue and receipt of materials to production by verifying work order numbers, quantities, and the status of work orders before releasing or returning materials. • Receive incoming materials by verifying quality, quantities, and purchase orders, applying labels according to requirements, and storing items in their proper locations. • Operate forklifts to load and unload steel coils and tubing, inspect and weigh coils to established standards, and write coil tickets while distributing copies to the appropriate areas. • Stage materials correctly and clearly label them with part numbers and quantities to ensure prompt and accurate delivery between manufacturing departments. • Rotate materials using older materials first, or as required by manufacturing, to support efficient use of inventory and plant space. • Identify damaged materials, document issues, and take appropriate action to ensure nonconforming materials do not move into production. • Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas and follow established safety procedures and guidelines at all times. • Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including the Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual. • Maintain awareness of how individual work contributes to quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance goals, and promptly report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel. • Perform general material handling, stocking, and production support tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly. Essential Skills
• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. • Previous forklift experience with prior forklift licensing required. • Proficiency operating a sit-down electric forklift in a production or warehouse environment. • Experience with inventory control, stocking, and materials handling. • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions accurately. • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and communicate clearly with team members and other departments. • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during an 8-hour shift. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an entire 8-hour shift. • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment, or parts, and work safely near moving mechanical parts. • Comfort working in general production and general labor environments. • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment handling steel coils, tubing, or similar materials. • Familiarity with scanning equipment for inventory transactions and material tracking. • Attention to detail when verifying work orders, quantities, labels, and coil tickets. • Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and safety manuals. • Ability to maintain good housekeeping and organization in work areas. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Red Lion, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.68 - $21.28/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
