Job Title: Furniture Assembly Technician – High-End Office Products (2nd Shift)Job DescriptionThis role focuses on the first assembly of high-end office furniture using a variety of woodworking tools and equipment. You will build and assemble wood products from start to finish, following blueprints and production specifications while maintaining high quality standards in a modern, well-organized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Perform first assembly of high-end office furniture and wood products according to production specifications and quality standards. • Use various hand and power tools to build and assemble wood components accurately and efficiently. • Operate woodworking machinery such as table saws, band saws, and miter saws to cut and shape wood materials. • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tape measurements to ensure precise cuts, fits, and assemblies. • Perform custom cabinetry, finish carpentry, trim carpentry, and general woodworking tasks as required by production needs. • Prepare materials for painting and finishing, including paint prep and basic industrial painting using spray guns when needed. • Inspect parts and finished assemblies for quality, accuracy, and defects, making adjustments or corrections as necessary. • Follow established production processes and workflows in a highly organized manufacturing environment. • Handle packaging and preparation of finished products for shipment or further processing. • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures. • Support general labor tasks in the milling and assembly areas, including material handling and basic machine support. • Collaborate with trainers, mentors, and team members to learn new skills and continuously improve efficiency and craftsmanship. Essential Skills • At least 6 months of experience in manufacturing, general labor, farming, or construction. • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for precise measurements. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings. • Experience using hand and power tools in a production, construction, or woodworking environment. • Basic carpentry skills, including assembly and wood cutting. • Ability to operate or learn to operate table saws, band saws, and miter saws safely. • Capability to follow detailed instructions and production processes. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Willingness to work 2nd shift (3:30 pm – 2:00 am, Monday–Thursday) with overtime as needed on Fridays. Additional Skills & Qualifications • 6+ months of machine operation experience is preferred but not required. • Background in carpentry, cabinetry, custom cabinetry, finish carpentry, or trim carpentry. • Experience in woodworking, including use of mills and other wood-cutting equipment. • Familiarity with industrial painting, spray guns, and paint preparation. • Experience with inspection and quality checks in a production environment. • Comfort working in a production setting with organized workflows and processes. • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, moving materials, and assisting across departments. • Interest in learning new tools, equipment, and techniques in a modern woodworking facility. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a newly built milling and manufacturing department designed for comfort and efficiency, featuring excellent ventilation, strong lighting, and new equipment and tools. The production floor follows a very organized manufacturing process, supporting smooth workflows and consistent quality. This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays and paid at double time for those with perfect attendance during the week. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection, with protective equipment provided on site. You may wear jeans, and shorts are allowed during the summer, offering a practical and comfortable dress standard for a hands-on, industrial woodworking environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stewartville, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
