Job Title: CNC Mill Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThis role focuses on operating CNC mill machines to produce precision components for aerospace and defense applications. You will work with 3, 4, and 5 axis vertical and horizontal CNC mills, interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, and ensure parts meet strict quality and dimensional standards. The position offers hands-on training for motivated candidates who have some prior CNC experience and a strong desire to grow their machining skills. Responsibilities • Operate 3, 4, and 5 axis vertical and horizontal CNC mills to produce precision machined parts. • Set up CNC machines by installing pallets, vises, tombstones, and fixtures according to job requirements. • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to understand part features and tolerances. • Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges to verify part dimensions. • Apply basic math, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate dimensions, offsets, and machine adjustments. • Work with aluminum and other materials commonly used in aerospace and defense components. • Follow established procedures and quality standards for aerospace manufacturing. • Collaborate with team members and trainers to continuously improve machining techniques and production efficiency. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines in the machine shop. • Demonstrate dependability, drive, and ambition by learning new machining processes and equipment. Essential Skills • Previous experience running or operating CNC machines. • Ability to operate 3, 4, and 5 axis vertical and horizontal CNC mills. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T. • Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges for dimensional inspection. • Ability to use basic math, geometry, and trigonometry in daily machining tasks. • Dependable work habits with a strong drive and ambition to learn machining. • Willingness to train and develop new skills in a production machining environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous aerospace manufacturing experience is a strong plus. • Experience working with aluminum and components for aerospace and defense applications. • Interest in building a long-term career in precision machining. • Comfort working with 5-axis CNC mills and complex setups. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. You will work around CNC mills and related inspection equipment in a professional, production-focused setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
