About this role
As a Product Controller within the International Consumer Bank (ICB), you will support financial integrity, product control, and regulatory reporting across retail banking products including deposits, credit cards, and personal investing.
You will operate at the intersection of product control, close governance, and external reporting, ensuring accurate financial outcomes through a strong controls-first mindset, proactive issue identification, and root-cause remediation. This role requires strong accounting expertise, analytical capability, and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
Support end-to-end product control and financial governance for ICB retail productsExecute monthly close activities including journal processing, balance sheet substantiation, and adherence to reporting timelinesPerform variance analysis and financial analytics, with clear articulation of key drivers and business impactsReview and validate financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation integritySupport preparation and governance of external financial disclosures and regulatory submissionsApply and enhance control frameworks, including tie-outs, proofing, and cross-report validationsProactively identify and resolve data, process, and system breaks, driving root-cause analysis and sustainable remediationPartner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, and Technology to ensure end-to-end process alignmentRepresent Controllers in cross-functional forums, communicating accounting and reporting implications clearlySupport internal and external audits through documentation, walkthroughs, and issue resolutionDrive automation, process simplification, and reporting efficiency initiatives and contribute to change programs and new product initiatives, ensuring controls are embedded from design to BAU Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
7+ years of experience in Finance, Controllers, Product Control, or Regulatory Reporting within a financial services environmentProfessional accounting qualificationStrong knowledge of US GAAP with exposure to UK GAAP / IFRSAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and WordStrong controls mindset with focus on accuracy, audit readiness, and documentation qualityProven ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root-cause resolutionEffective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
