Salary: £55,000 - 78,000 per year
Requirements: Demonstrable experience in at least 4 of the following: Java 8+, Spring/Spring Boot, designing and developing RESTful microservices, writing unit and integration tests, CI/CD and build tools such as Jenkins, Groovy/Gradle or Maven, AWS, Docker containers and associated toolingDemonstrable experience in at least 3 of the following practices and design patterns: server-side and front-end coding, programming best practices such as Clean Code and SOLID, continuous integration and continuous delivery principles, microservice design patternsDemonstrable experience in at least 3 of the following: bridging the gap between technical and non-technical teams, translating technical concepts between infrastructure, delivery management and service management, speaking on behalf of technical and development teams to facilitate stakeholder relationships, sharing knowledge and mentoring colleaguesProficiency in Java, particularly Spring Boot, and JavaScript would be advantageousKnowledge of multiple JavaScript frameworks and tools such as React, Angular, Vue, NodeJS, Redux, TypeScript, Webpack or JestWorking experience with MySQL-compatible databases such as MySQL, RDS, Aurora or MariaDBExperience with Docker, Bash or shell scripting Responsibilities: Work across technical teams formed of supplier, contract and permanent resourceDevelop new features securely in line with industry best practicesProvide production support and support fixing application issuesIdentify production and non-production application defectsTrain colleagues and share knowledgeLook ahead for future opportunities or blockers and ensure team decisions align with the technical directionIdentify operational improvements and help ensure a stable service that can be enhancedAnticipate and mitigate project challenges or risksWork with technical architects and other developers to translate architectural designs into operations Technologies: AWSAngularBashCI/CDDockerGradleGroovySupportJavaJavaScriptJenkinsJestMariaDBMavenMySQLNodeJSReactReduxSpringSpring BootTypeScriptVueWebpackmicroservicesCloudBackend More:
We are a public sector organisation in Glasgow, and we are looking to recruit a Back-end Software Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend. The rate is £496/day outside IR35. The role is remote for the majority of the time, but we require flexibility to attend our Glasgow office as needed, including to collect equipment.
