More about our team North Alabama Medical Center, opened its doors in 2018, as the replacement facility for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, in Florence, Alabama. North Alabama Medical Center serves as a regional facility with more than 200 physicians on staff who represent more than 42 specialty areas of medicine. How you'll contribute A Surgical Aid who excels in this role:

• Assists in assuring optimal patient care by delivering basic patient care under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN.

• Assists with the transportation and positioning of patients as needed.

• Supports room readiness and turnover processes between surgical procedures.

• Maintains a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within assigned areas.

• Keeps shelves stocked with supplies and ensures needed items are readily available.

• Delivers specimens to the laboratory and retrieves x-rays, charts, and other materials as needed.

• Performs direct patient care responsibilities as assigned.

• Demonstrates critical thinking skills and sound judgment while working independently with minimal supervision.

• Maintains professionalism and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-stress healthcare environment.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional requirements include:

• Three (3) years of relevant experience preferred.

• BLS certification required. • Prior housekeeping experience preferred. • Previous healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred. Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. • Ability to work with minimal supervision. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. • Demonstrates the ability to take appropriate action in urgent situations. • Strong organizational and communication skills.
