About this role

Crofton Academy is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join our inclusive and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access learning and thrive in a mainstream school environment.

As an LSA, you will work closely with the SEN Coordinator and Assistant SENCo to support pupils across a range of needs. You’ll provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with personal care, and help pupils engage with learning activities both in and out of the classroom.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including physical disabilitiesAssist with learning activities, supervision, and care Report pupil progress and concerns to teaching staff and contribute to individual education/behaviour plansSupport pupils in using resources such as ICT.Participate in school visits and supervise pupils during non-lesson timesLiaise with parents/carers and contribute to reports under the direction of the SENCoUphold safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standardsWhat We’re Looking ForGCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) in English and Maths or equivalentExperience working or caring for childrenUnderstanding of SEN and ability to relate well to pupils with additional needsStrong communication, teamwork, and initiativeCompassionate, patient, and adaptableEnthusiastic and energetic with a commitment to pupil wellbeingA positive role model and team playerWillingness to support whole school events and personal developmentWhy Join Us?Crofton Academy offers a supportive and inclusive environment where staff are valued and encouraged to grow. Salary - FTE £25,583 Pro-Rata 5 days £15,500 and 3 days £9539 per annum. This position is 38 weeks per year term time only.
