About this role

Join a world-leading art and design institution and contribute to shaping the future of interior and spatial design education.

We are seeking an Associate Lecturer with expertise in both spatial design theory and practice to teach Year 3 students on our BA (Hons) Interior and Spatial Design course.

The successful candidate will support students in the development of their major design projects and dissertation, encouraging critical thinking, experimentation and ambitious, independent practice. They will contribute to a course that explores the social, ethical and environmental dimensions of interior and spatial design and prepares graduates for an evolving profession.

As an Associate Lecturer, you will contribute to high-quality studio teaching, seminars, tutorials and assessment. Working as part of a collaborative course team, you will support students in developing their design practice, research skills and academic writing within a rigorous and inclusive learning environment.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

Professional experience and a strong portfolio in interior and spatial design or a closely related discipline

Experience of teaching both spatial design theory and studio practice in higher education

Experience of supervising undergraduate design projects and dissertations

The ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative studio environment

A critical, reflective and creative approach to spatial design education

An understanding of contemporary issues shaping interior and spatial design, including sustainability, ethics and social responsibility
