About the company

Healthcare systems globally are facing significant pressures, and epilepsy is a case-study of those challenges. More than 630,000 people in the UK live with the condition. Over 70% of routine EEGs are clinically inconclusive, and the average time to diagnosis is longer than a year. That leaves people waiting, and clinicians deciding without the evidence they need.

We built BioEP to close that gap. It analyses background activity in a routine EEG using eight predefined features drawn from peer-reviewed computational neuroscience, returning an objective rating in under five minutes. It works when nothing abnormal is visible, so it supports a decision precisely where conventional reading runs out. Our method is deterministic and explainable, not a black box or deep learning tool.

BioEP is UKCA-marked and has been validated across 15 NHS sites and more than 6,000 recordings. In June 2026 we raised £3M, co-led by Empirical Ventures and The FSE Group. That investment takes us through our FDA submission this year, extends BioEP into paediatrics and prognosis, and funds research on our next indication: traumatic brain injury. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to all of these areas.

Founded in 2018 Neuronostics has grown rapidly in the years since. In 2024 our international potential was recognised when we won the Epilepsy Foundation of the USA Shark Tank competition and with it a $125K prize. We've established transformative partnerships with leading industry players: Stratus Neuro (the leading US EEG services provider with 600+ hospital systems), Nervus (UK EEG services), and Neuroelectrics (advanced EEG hardware), creating immediate distribution channels and market access.

About the role

You will lead the day-to-day delivery of assigned studies within a programme that spans diagnosis, prognosis and paediatrics in the UK, with US studies in preparation. That covers site set-up, ethics and regulatory submissions, monitoring visits, data quality and an inspection-ready trial master file. You will line manage our Clinical Trial Co-ordinators and help shape the processes and templates that our clinical operations run on. We are looking for proven multisite trial management from initiation to close-out, a high standard of Good Clinical Practice, and sound judgement about when to escalate. For consideration at the senior level, you will have strong evidence of sustained delivery across multiple successful studies.

In this role you will:

The following is a list of the main tasks this job role will handle, but is by no means an exhaustive list and may be varied from time to time:-

Lead the day-to-day management of assigned clinical trials, acting as the primary point of contact for the studies managed. Set up clinical sites, prepare ethics committee and regulatory submissions, and ensure that staff at participating sites understand and are able to comply with the protocol. Ensure that trials are undertaken according to Good Clinical Practice, applicable regulatory requirements, ethics approvals, study protocols and company SOPs. Develop and maintain study plans, monitoring plans, study trackers, study manuals, training materials and other study documentation as required. Monitor progress of each site and take appropriate action to support recruitment, protocol compliance, data quality and timely data collection. Maintain trial files, including the trial master file, and oversee the management and quality of site files. Travel to trial sites to carry out initiation visits, monitoring visits, training visits and close-out visits. Identify, assess and address risks or issues that arise during trials, escalating matters appropriately to maintain trial integrity and delivery. Prepare clear progress reports for senior management, including recruitment status, site performance, monitoring findings, data quality, operational risks and decisions required. Line manage and mentor team members. This will include the setting of clear expectations, support their development, reviewing work quality, helping prioritise workload and ensure clear escalation routes. Support the development of clinical operations processes, templates and working practices to improve consistency, quality and efficiency across studies. Work with regulatory, commercial, R&D and technical colleagues to ensure that clinical trial planning and delivery support wider evidence-generation and business needs. Contribute strategic input into future study planning, real-world evaluations and clinical evidence plans. Make recommendations to the leadership team where trial delivery, site experience or clinical evidence requirements need senior input. Identify and scale-up as appropriate where specialist, senior or external support is required, including for international studies, FDA-facing work or complex regulatory matters.
