About The Role

This part-time post of (0.5 FTE) is available from 3 Aug 2026 on a till 30 July 2027. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.

Salary will be £30,878 per annum pro rata on Grade D subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home. Institutes represent significant investments by the University of Exeter in areas of research strength and play a key role in helping achieve the University's Global objectives. Institutes strengthen our reputation for world-leading research and education of the highest quality and impact within their fields of inquiry. This post will play an important role in successfully supporting the Global Systems Institute (GSI) and the transition to a new Institute for climate and environment research. Working to the Senior Administrator, and closely with the Institute Manager, you will:

Provide the Institute Director, Manager, and other academics with effective administration support to enable the delivery of strategic institutional priorities. Support the planning and delivery of a wide range of events and communications to raise the internal, national, and international profile of the Institute, build relationships with key partners and develop a vibrant community. Support the administration of the relevant governance and management groups for the Institute.

About The Division Research Division The Research Division is a key enabler to the delivery of the University's Strategy 2030, the Research and Impact Strategy, successful REF performances, and generating external research income, by:

supporting the full research project lifecycle from inception to impact offering research infrastructure support providing leadership for the Exeter Doctoral College delivering joint strategic, policy and planning support to the University and Faculties

The division consists of four service groups: Doctoral College; Research Services; Research Software and Analytics; and Technical Strategy and Operations. The Research Services Group provides a range of services: research strategy development and delivery through the Research Strategy team and our University Research Institute teams; faculty relationship management through our Faculty Partners; research development & management support and financial management through our Research Funder Clusters; Research and Impact performance and REF planning; Finance, systems and data support; Research ethics, governance and compliance.
