About this role

FTE: 1 (35 hours/week)

Term: Fixed

A short postdoctoral research associate post is currently available to complete the delivery of an industry-funded project to deploy flow chemistry in nickel catalysis. The researcher will be responsible for demonstrating proof of concept in completing some challenging reactions in flow, presenting research results to external colleagues in industry, and contributing to research proposals to continue the collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have experience in transition metal catalysis, under strictly anhydrous and anaerobic conditions, and in flow chemistry. They will be able to design, execute, work-up and purify the products of reactions of this type. They will have expertise with key characterisation methods such as NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. They will have some expertise in organometallic chemistry for the synthesis of transition metal complexes that can be used as catalysts.
