About this role

Department

The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD), an academic research department at the University of York, is recruiting an Evidence Synthesis Knowledge Exchange Content Manager.

Role

In this pivotal new role, as part of the department’s Communication and Impact Group and under the direction of the group Chair and Departmental Management Team, you will lead and coordinate our website and social media activities. You will turn complex evidence into accessible, impactful digital content to be shared across multiple channels, tailored for different audiences, and ensure appropriate governance and quality (including accessibility). Working with and supporting CRD content creators, primarily core programme and project leads, you will enable effective and professionally managed knowledge exchange activity. This will help ensure that information about ongoing CRD projects is actively shared and promoted, and that project outputs are properly disseminated to maximise research impact.

You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders involved in our evidence production and promoting findings, and in the provision of evidence synthesis guidance and training. Our digital media content aims to support policy, practice and research decision-making needs.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed

Level 6 qualification, or equivalent professional experience Knowledge and understanding of evidence synthesis including broad understanding of the methodology and how it is used to inform health and care decision-making Strong knowledge of digital technologies, social media and their application in communicating evidence for research Demonstrable experience at a strategic level of managing website and social media activities for a complex organisation or department, and in structuring and delivering engaging digital content Knowledge of social media monitoring platforms for managing social media activity and delivering insights for evaluation Demonstrable experience of rapidly understanding and responding to individual project-specific target audiences and needs Experience of working within a team to meet agreed organisational digital needs – preferably in a research environment

This is a part-time position on average of 1 day per week and is fixed term for 2 years in the first instance.
