This is a full-time, permanent position. This post is offered on a Teaching and Scholarship contract. A Teaching and Research contract may be negotiated with a suitably qualified candidate.
Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of teachers? We’re looking for an inspiring Senior Lecturer in Primary & Early Years ITE to join our vibrant Faculty of Education and play a leading role in developing outstanding teachers for schools locally, nationally and internationally.
In this exciting role, you will:
Teach across Primary and Early Years ITE programmes. Support trainees through high-quality academic teaching, assessment and tutoring. Contribute to programme development, quality assurance and enhancement activities. Undertake partnership work with schools and contribute to placement-related activities. Bring expertise in behaviour management, assessment and planning, and evidence-informed pedagogy, supporting trainees to develop effective classroom practice and professional decision-making across diverse educational contexts. Contribute to student recruitment, outreach and the wider academic life of the Faculty.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has specialist expertise in Primary and Early Years education. Brings strong knowledge and experience of postgraduate Initial Teacher Education. Has successful experience of teaching and supporting trainee teachers. Has expertise in behaviour management, classroom culture and pupil engagement, alongside strong understanding of assessment, planning and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning. Is collaborative, innovative and committed to high-quality teacher education. Is enthusiastic about contributing to programme development and scholarship.
We would be particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to areas including behaviour management, professional behaviours, assessment and planning, learning theories and research, and ITaPs.
