Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the vascular laboratory. Operates Ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of vascular imaging procedures as indicated by physician orders and protocols. Maintains quality assurance logs, updates policies and procedures, and maintains requirements as indicated for IAC and ACR accreditations. Attends to direct and indirect patient care needs to ensure successful completion of requested imaging procedures.
• Performs a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures • Produces clear and undistorted images as indicated per established protocols • Identifies and visualizes all necessary anatomy, measurements and correctly labels structures. • Documents patient information, test results and measurements accurately • Recognizes normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and physiology and reports critical values and abnormal findings per established policy and procedures • Utilizes 2-Dimensional, M-Mode, color flow and Doppler imaging techniques when indicated • Abnormal patient findings are immediately reported to the Radiologist • Assures correct patient information on requests, reports and PACS • Monitors equipment and department supplies • Organizes work area and maintains supplies
Education / Experience
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
• AA Degree required • Graduate of an accredited program for Ultrasonography required • Active member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with RVT certification or a registered vascular specialist by CCI • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required • 1-year clinical setting • Strong proficiency in computer-based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) • Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remote offices as well as independently • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
