FULL-TIME DAYS
The Cashier performs cash handling functions and serves customers in cafeteria and/or coffee shop. Builds positive customer satisfaction. Other related duties as assigned.
General Functions:
• Promotes customer service and building rapport with customers in cafeteria/coffee shop • Sets up cafeteria/coffee shop for service • Stocks cafeteria/coffee shop to maintain appropriate inventory levels • Operates cash register in cafeteria/coffee shop • Checks all transactions/food orders (content and portion size) • Maintains cleanliness of cafeteria/coffee shop • Performs cash close out procedures always following established procedures • Assures timely service in cafeteria/coffee shop • Chops, slices, peels food items for special order foods • Functions as a grill cook if needed. • Adheres to all BHS safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards • Assures all foods are correctly label/dated/rotated when handled and put away • Transports food to other areas as needed • Operates, cleans, sanitizes dishes and necessary equipment • Sweeps/mops areas of the department • Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively • Maintains safe environment • Participates in Performance Improvement activities
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language. PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year’s food and/or customer service experience PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous cashier and customer service experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District #LI-JH5
