FULL-TIME ROTATE

The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance of the Hospital buildings, equipment and physical plant. Other related duties as assigned.

General Functions:  Performs daily maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance Department/Business Unit Function:  Performs preventative maintenance on many types of hospital equipment and a variety of heating and air conditioning systems  Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, switchers, plugs, receptacles, ballasts, and makes repairs on faucets, commodes, valves and door closures  Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of heating and air conditioning systems  Assumes responsibility for checking, maintaining and making repairs on:

• Patient room equipment such as beds, bed side tables, lights, nurse call systems and plumbing equipment • Boilers, chillers and all associated plant equipment • Fan motors, pumps (such as sewage, condensate, vacuum pumps), and other auxiliary equipment • Vacuum pumps, medical air compressors, medical gas wall outlets and regulators, etc.  Operates and maintains Emergency Generators  Performs inspections to fire safety equipment and systems  Runs errands  Assists with moving furniture, boxes and heavy objects  Documents all work performed on appropriate logs and work orders.  Maintains a chemical treatment program for all cooling and heating systems  Works shifts as assigned.  Assumes on-call responsibilities as necessary according to each facility schedule  Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively  Maintains safe environment  Participates in Performance Improvement activities

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent PREFERRED EDUCATION: Trade School in mechanical, electrical or air conditioning MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years in a hospital or 7 years’ similar experience in an industrial setting. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 10 years’ hospital experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification. Training certificate in mechanical, electrical, air conditioning or equivalent experience of 10 years. #LI-JH5
