Reports To The Professional Services Implementation Engineer (Hybrid – LI) will report to the Director of Professional Services. Job Overview The Professional Services Implementation Engineer (Hybrid) is a senior technical resource responsible for executing and delivering a broad range of client-facing implementation projects. This role combines advanced technical expertise with strong project execution, communication, and documentation skills. The successful candidate will lead and participate in projects involving Microsoft 365 migrations, Entra ID and Intune deployments, Conditional Access implementations, Microsoft Autopilot configuration, office relocations, network infrastructure deployments, and new client onboarding initiatives. The engineer is expected to work independently while collaborating closely with Project Managers, Technical Account Managers, client stakeholders, vendors, and internal technical teams. This role requires a high level of ownership, professionalism, and the ability to navigate complex technical environments while ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with scope, timelines, and established best practices. • Lead and execute client-facing implementation projects, including Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant consolidations, infrastructure upgrades, network deployments, office relocations, and new client onboarding activities. • Configure, deploy, and support Microsoft 365 technologies including Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, Conditional Access, device compliance policies, endpoint management, and identity solutions. • Perform hands-on installation, configuration, testing, and validation of network infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN connectivity, and related technologies. • Coordinate and execute technical aspects of office move projects, ensuring successful network connectivity, workstation readiness, and business continuity during deployment activities. • Perform on-site project work at client locations throughout Long Island and occasionally within New York City. • Participate in project discovery, planning, technical reviews, implementation activities, cutovers, and post-deployment validation. • Work collaboratively with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established project timelines. • Provide clients with clear and professional status updates, technical guidance, and implementation-related communications throughout project engagements. • Document all project work, configurations, implementation procedures, network diagrams, technical findings, and deployment outcomes within company documentation systems including IT Glue. • Maintain accurate project notes, task updates, and time entries within HaloPSA. • Follow established implementation methodologies, standard operating procedures, and Professional Services best practices. • Assist with project handoffs, knowledge transfers, internal reviews, and post-implementation support activities. • Identify project risks, technical concerns, and operational challenges early and communicate them appropriately to stakeholders. • Support continuous improvement efforts through development of standards, templates, documentation, and repeatable implementation processes. • Participate as an escalation resource in the company’s on-call rotation for critical after-hours support issues • Serve as a point of escalation providing cross-team collaboration with the client services team on technical issues outside of their technical capabilities. • Act as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineers when guidance or project assistance is needed. • Identify opportunities for increased efficiency through the use of scripting and/or AI integrations Scope & Project Management Expectations As a senior implementation resource within a Professional Services organization, the Professional Services Implementation Engineer must maintain awareness of project scope, assumptions, exclusions, and deliverables throughout each engagement. Responsibilities include: • Review project scope documentation before beginning assigned work. • Identify potential scope deviations, risks, or unforeseen requirements as early as possible. • Communicate scope concerns promptly to Project Management and leadership teams. • Avoid unauthorized project expansion (scope creep) without appropriate client approval and internal review. • Assist in the identification and documentation of potential change-order opportunities when client requests or when technical requirements exceed the approved project scope. • Maintain a disciplined and professional approach to project execution while helping ensure consistent delivery outcomes and client expectations remain aligned.
