Telecom Analyst Technician I
Job Description: Responsible for the review, analysis, design, modification and execution of one or more processes that support the IT infrastructure function of the Exchange Network portfolio. Tasks related to this portfolio may include, but are not limited to, engineering the network, implementation of the network, operation of the network, and network user support. Gathers requirements from other IT staff and users to assist with the design and operation of the data network. Ensure users comply with the policies and procedures for the network. Proactively monitors the performance of the networks. Serves as second level support of non-routine and major events and incidents on the network by identifying, evaluating and troubleshooting these events. Responds to telephone calls and email requests for network support. Provides management with status reports. Researches new technology and procedures to support network management. Trains and coordinates with IT staff on the network management portfolio. Competent to work most phases of network management but may require instruction and guidance for some phases. Safeguards physical access to Exchange restricted data, processes and services.

.Work – Onsite (HQ – Dallas, Texas) • Remote/Telework NOT authorized per Presidential Memorandum "Return to In Person Work" Technical (Preferred/Required Skills/Systems): • Manage IT operations and Cisco network equipment like Meraki appliances, switches, firewalls, andaccess points • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot computer network systems • Provide engineering support for issues connected with the network infrastructure • Configuration, implementation, and support of all network components • Management of requests, problems, incidents, and data environments • Write and maintain technical documentation for the network environment • Participate in design, build, and test activities related to new WiFi deployments, network upgrades, andtechnology/platform evaluations • Solid understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/IP, FTP, Firewalls • Experience in monitoring devices using several networking tools: SolarWinds, Meraki dashboard, ISE,Cisco wireless controllers and DNAC.
Job Qualifications: Four years of the following experience:
Cisco networking systems support to include cisco routers; switches both layer 2 and layer 3 switches and wireless networking systems.
Operational knowledge of routing protocols. Understand cause and effect of networking changes and the ability to apply operational changes.
Experience isolating network problems in a timely manner and restoring systems to operational status.
Experience in upgrading and implementing networking systems.
Or
Bachelor's degree and two years of the following experience:
Cisco networking systems support to include cisco routers; switches both layer 2 and layer 3 switches and wireless networking systems.
Operational knowledge of routing protocols. Understand cause and effect of networking changes and the ability to apply operational changes.
Experience isolating network problems in a timely manner and restoring systems to operational status.
Experience in upgrading and implementing networking systems.
Required technical skills may vary as requested by the supervisor depending on specific requirements of the position being filled.

• CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE - Preferred
Major Duties: Maintains networking systems throughout Exchange enterprise network by understanding and applying the networking systems routing protocols and proper network manipulation. Proactive network resource management, networking systems trouble isolation, repair and systems restoration and implementation. Serves as escalation support for the IT Help Desk Associates on networking problems. Gathers requirements for networking needs. Provides management reports. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Challenges: 24x7 work environment supporting Exchange operations, which requires either shift work, on call, and/or after hours project work and may include holidays, and weekends IT environment is constantly changing demanding quick solutions and evolving skills IT position located at HQ IT position - there may be some TDY associated with this IT work
