We’re entering an exciting phase of growth, driven by new partnerships and expanding customer demand. As we scale, we’re investing in modern systems and processes to ensure we can deliver efficiently and profitably. This includes developing a new MRP system and automating many legacy manual processes.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Accountant with significant experience in commercial manufacturing to help us fast-track this transformation. You’ll play a key role in designing and implementing systems that support our growth, ensure accurate production and inventory accounting, and modernize how we work. You’ll also serve as a critical partner to our sales team, connecting commercial planning with operational and financial outcomes.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also influencing strategy and systems design.

Key Responsibilities

MRP & Systems Implementation

• Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Finance team members to develop our MRP system quickly and effectively.

• Define best practices for inventory management, production accounting, and manufacturing cost flows.

• Contribute to process mapping, system design, testing, and documentation.

Process Automation

• Help transition manual inventory processes to automated systems, including barcode implementation.

• Develop solutions for tracking and reporting production and inventory movements

• Train users and support change management.

Accounting & Finance

• Manage and reconcile inventory and production-related accounts.

• Perform cost analysis and variance reporting for manufacturing operations.

• Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and audits.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Commercial Collaboration & Forecasting

• Work closely with the sales team to align the sales plan with material purchasing needs and inventory planning.

• Provide sales forecasting inputs and analysis to support the budget and rolling forecasts.

• Analyze sales trends and translate commercial strategies into financial and operational impacts.

Cross-Training & Team Support

• Participate in cross-training on key accounting and finance functions.

• Provide backup coverage for team members to ensure smooth operations during absences.

• Contribute to building a collaborative, flexible finance team.

The Reality (and Opportunity)

Some parts of the job are in transition as we modernize our systems. We currently handle many inventory movements manually, but we’re committed to change—and you’ll help make it happen.

We need someone who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves in the short term while building long-term solutions.

You’ll have significant influence over how our systems and processes evolve.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, ideally in a commercial manufacturing environment.

• Solid understanding of cost accounting, production accounting, and inventory controls.

• Experience participating in, or leading, ERP or MRP system developments.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets.

• Experience working with sales or commercial teams on forecasting, budgeting, or planning (a plus).

• Comfortable in fast-paced environments and able to balance daily accounting needs with system projects.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Willingness to cross-train and support broader finance functions as needed.
