Summary:

The Quality Analyst (QA) is a member of an Agile team and works directly with other agile teams and cross functional roles to understand project features, review technical designs, and implement manual testing solutions to deliver quality software with efficiency. This position is responsible for designing manual test cases in support of software products (internal and external) in an Agile Teams software development lifecycle. This position requires technical experience performing test data preparation, manual test creation/execution, and test results analysis. This includes documenting detailed test methods and procedures for use by QA and Operations team members.

This position is based in Phoenix Arizona; Denver Colorado; or Grand Junction, Colorado and requires local residency in one of these base locations. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Collaborates within an Agile Teams methodology to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the components and products developed.

• Writes and executes test cases and supporting data sets.

• Identifies test requirements from technical specifications and business use case scenarios including 3rd party components.

• Monitor and report on the status of testing efforts, defect tracking, and weekly time accounting.

• Effectively manage through complex technical challenges with clear timely decision making and incisive, creative problem solving.

• Provide analysis and recommendations to the development and enhancements of QA procedures, tools, and methods.

• Occasionally required to be available for after-hours work, outside of normally scheduled hours.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• Testing experience with some or all of the following: SQL and or Mongo, APIs, web services.

• Experience with XML or JSON or REST.

• Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.

• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

• Proven aptitude for seeking creative solutions to multifaceted problems.

• Self-motivated, works tasks independently, and collaborates within the Agile team.

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment working on simultaneous projects.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HL7 messaging standard.

• Experience with Postman and Swagger desired.

• Electronic Health Record and Health Information Exchange (HIE) experience.

Education/Experience

• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant QA technical experience required.

• Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline required.

The position may require ability to periodically drive to and from clients, conferences and / or events; and / or limited travel.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of the role:

• Frequent communication and information exchange.

• Regular movement within the office to access equipment and materials.

• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (approximately 50% of the time).

• Continuous use of computers and office equipment (e.g., keyboard, monitor, printer).

• Frequent handling of materials up to 10 lbs; occasional handling up to 30 lbs.
