Clinton Community Schools Position Title: Middle School Counselor Position Summary: The School Counselor will provide direct support to students and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success. This individual will serve as a resource for students in the areas of academic achievement, career development, and social/emotional wellness. The counselor will play an active role in planning, delivering, and assessing the school counseling core curriculum. Qualifications: Required:
• Master's Degree in School Counseling
• Michigan K-12 Teaching Certificate with NT endorsement or School Counselor License (SCL)
Considered:
• Candidates currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Counseling with a minimum of 18 credit hours completed
Responsibilities:
• Provide academic, personal/social, and career counseling for students through individual and group sessions
• Assist in the planning and delivery of a comprehensive counseling curriculum
• Use a variety of instructional and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and community stakeholders to support student development
• Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and 504 processes, including monitoring and scheduling
• Identify students in need of additional support and coordinate appropriate interventions
• Provide brief counseling and refer students/families to external resources when needed
• Lead career awareness and development initiatives
• Stay current on technology use in counseling and participate in professional learning
• Maintain ethical and legal standards of the school counseling profession
Compensation:
• Per Clinton Education Association (CEA) Contract
