PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR HS DIPLOMA/GED AND DRIVER LICENSE/RESUME REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English.
• A Valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record;
• One Year Experience driving large 3/4 ton and above Trucks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Drives a District vehicle to and from work sites; obeys all traffic laws. Lifts and transfers materials, equipment, furniture, trash, brush and construction debris to unload said items at appropriate sites.Effectively and politely communicates with supervisor, helper, and other District personnel. Drives throughout the City of Brownsville, learns all school building sites and support administrative offices; communicates with dispatcher. Works in an orderly manner and is aware of common safety practices when conducting said work. Drives truck to destination. Prepares receipts for load picked up. Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Loads and unloads truck. Inspects truck equipment, supplies and maintains a daily vehicle inspection log that includes the servicing of tires, lights and all fluid levels. Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, spark plugs, securing and preparing vehicles for transport if needed. Positions, blocks, and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. Operates electrical forklift and the manual hand lift carefully and efficiently. Loads and pulls items for delivery and checks for accuracy. Housekeeping duties as assigned; painting, sweeping, or organizing and assisting in the sanitation maintenance of the warehouse. Safely and effectively deliver mail and packages to all schools and departments. Lifting of heavy equipment and packages is done. Driving around schools most of the time requires continuous care and alertness. Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions; loads and unloads truck. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Communication with all level of personnel is a requisite. Assists on the operation of the Media Center while not out driving. Follows established sanitation and safety procedures, techniques, and regulations to perform job duties. Must perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance preventions before and after trips. Position may require overtime and will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty as necessary to maintain function of District facilities. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Director.
