• Knowledge of marketing strategy, audience engagement, branding, campaign development, and digital communication practices.

• Knowledge of enrollment marketing principles, audience behavior trends, user experience strategies, and public engagement practices.

• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic marketing campaigns aligned with district priorities and organizational goals.

• Ability to evaluate digital communication systems, website organization, and family-facing enrollment processes to improve accessibility, clarity, and user experience.

• Ability to analyze enrollment trends, audience insights, campaign performance, engagement metrics, and digital analytics to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills with the ability to develop persuasive marketing, enrollment, and promotional content tailored to diverse audiences across multiple communication platforms.

• Ability to lead projects, supervise staff, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across departments to achieve organizational goals.

• Knowledge of and proficiency with digital communication platforms, social media, advertising, website engagement strategies, analytics tools, content management systems, and audience engagement software.

• Ability to exercise sound professional judgment, maintain confidentiality, and foster positive working relationships with students, staff, families, and the public.

• Ability to work independently or collaborate effectively within a a team.

JOB SUMMARY: The Enrollment Marketing and Campaign Strategist leads the District's enrollment marketing strategy by developing compelling messaging, campaigns, and family-centered communication experiences that strengthen awareness, increase engagement, and support enrollment growth. This position uses audience insights, digital engagement strategies, and performance analytics to improve marketing effectiveness, enhance family experiences, and build public confidence in Des Moines Public Schools. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve as the district's lead strategist for enrollment marketing, ensuring campaigns, messaging, digital experiences, and promotional efforts are aligned to support district enrollment goals.

• Provide leadership, direction, coaching, supervision, and performance management for the Digital Content Creation position(s)

• Develop and lead strategic marketing and audience engagement campaigns, including planning, prioritization, and execution of district initiatives, while managing campaign calendars, timelines, and promotional schedules to ensure effective and timely

• Develop and apply marketing strategies using enrollment trends, demographic insights, audience research, and campaign analytics.

• Evaluate and improve the end-to-end enrollment and family communication experience from initial awareness through successful enrollment and the first day of school.

• Lead the development and implementation of multi-channel marketing and digital outreach efforts across district websites, social media, newsletters, email communications, video platforms, search, and digital advertising campaigns.

• Collaborate with schools, departments, and communications staff to identify, develop, and promote student-centered stories, district initiatives, and promotional opportunities aligned with district goals

• Develop and implement strategic messaging and write marketing, enrollment, and promotional content for campaigns across print, digital, social media, websites, email, advertising, and multimedia platforms.

• Monitor competitive education and enrollment trends, family preferences, and marketing strategies to identify opportunities that strengthen the district's market position and enrollment efforts

• Monitor emerging trends and best practices in enrollment marketing, digital engagement, website user experience, audience behavior, social media strategy, and public-sector

• Maintain professional learning and growth through professional organizations, seminars, course work, and collaboration.
